    Erik B & Rakim's album is a great & original album, which has lots of funky lyrics and also a mixture of hypnotic beats. It is bound to get you hooked.It could perhaps do with more songs.Similarities include Outkast's first album which obviously has ...heavy influence from Erik B & Rakim. And MC Hammer in the way they are dressed on the cover.Ben Read more Less

    Of course this was a trendsetting album in its time, as were the duo, but you wonder how much more they could've achieved.Follow the Leader is an amazing song; the beat & Rakim's lyrics that go on & on. But the album is inconsistent after that; main...ly b/c only 1/2 the songs feature Rakim.Eric B is ok, his scratching is ok, but you really want to hear more Rakim. And maybe if we had, Eric B & Rakim would still be making records together?A must-have if you consider yourself a 'head... I'd get Paid in Full if you're interested in this duo.. or Kool G Rap if you're just interested in rap from this era... Read more Less
