Pro Reviews: Focus: O Essencial de Sergio Reis

  • All Music Guide

Brazilian musical superstar Sérgio Reis recorded hit songs over the course of over two decades -- quite a remarkable run as a popular artist. Reis' entry in BMG's series of Focus best-ofs features many of his best-known recordings from the '70s and '80s. Some of the featured songs include "O Menido Da Gaita" (1972), "Se ela Voltar" (1973), "A Boiada" (1978), "O Vai e Vem Do Carreiro" (1983), "O Adeus Vermelho" (1984), "A Gaivota" (1987), and many more. This collection functions well as an introduction to this renowned neo-sertanejo artist's best work.
