Pros: heartwarming film for the family
Cons: not for guys into raw action or sleaze, this flick is wholesome
Rosa and I give the thumbs up on this flick which is based on a true story. It is for wholesome family entertainment. And it educates you all about the Canada Geese. In fact, we learned about the Canada Geese more than we wanted to know.
And this film is quite touching, tragedy striking in the early part of the film, with sweet success and redemption in the end. It is indeed inspiring to watch.
So this film is about a 13 yr old girl(Ana Paquin) who had to reunite with his Dad(Jeffe Daniels) in Canada after the death of her mom in New Zealand and how she lived an unhappy life until she came in contact with orphaned goose eggs. And that is when the adventure started, which included brushes with the law, learning to be a parent to these geese, and the need to fly.
This film is also about relationships, imparting good values (although, I would suggest strong parental guidance on the part where they had to break in the sheriff's office to free the birds because they would soon be put down), wherein a father who was absent in her daughter's life had to re-establish that bond and connection, while teaching and encouraging her daughter how to become a good "mama goose" to these geese.
See this film and you'll see a daring and adventurous plan. And yes, it did happen. ...
