Louisville's Five.Bolt.Main grew out of the hard rock outfit Thaw, which released two albums for Universal in the early 2000s. The label dropped Thaw after 2004's Endangered Species, and lead singer Chris Volz turned to drummer Ivan Arnold and bassist Ben Patrick with the intention of starting a new project.
