Synopsis: First Daughter (2004)

When Samantha Mackenzie (Holmes), the 18-year-old daughter of the president of the United States, demands that she be allowed to go to college without having to be followed by a fleet of secret service agents (with their suits, sunglasses, ear-pieces and very unhip attitudes), her dad agrees... while actually assigning one of the youngest Secret Service agents to...
When Samantha Mackenzie (Holmes), the 18-year-old daughter of the president of the United States, demands that she be allowed to go to college without having to be followed by a fleet of secret service agents (with their suits, sunglasses, ear-pieces and very unhip attitudes), her dad agrees... while actually assigning one of the youngest Secret Service agents to follow her around on campus disguised as a student anyway. The president's plan goes smoothly until the young agent falls in love with this girl he has to spend all day following, and she falls in love with him too, until... she finds out whom he really is. Can their love outlive the deception that gave it fruit?

    Pros: Sensuous

    Cons: There won't be a sequel

    This move made my toes curl. The dancing was so sensuous, and Katie and Marc were so good that they seemed they were truly in love. This movie was light years better than Chasing Liberty. CL was superficial. FD is a movie I can show my grandchildren.... There is no profanity (unlike CL)and Marc and Katie didn't have to jump in the sack (unlike CL) to show they loved each other. The dancing was so beautifully choreographed, I wished it would have continued longer. The cutaways to the next screen were brilliantly done. It was artfully cast, but the pr was terrible. I don't remember any trailers, and if it had been released during Christmas 2004, it would have done the Katie, Marc, and Forest justice. Sadly, the possibility of a sequel is probably non-existant because of the poor timing of its release and mistaken comparison to CL, resulting in poor reviews. Read more Less

    Pros: Something to dream about...

    Cons: I havent heard of a sequel

    This movie is absolutely fantastic. It is such a chick flick and I loved it. It's one of those movies where if your down it can make you smile because you wish something as wonderful, exciting and romantic as that, could some day happen to you. I...t's every little girl's dream, of being a princess and meeting prince charming. If there is a sequel to be made I can't wait to see it. Katie and Marc did a fabulous job of appearing that they were truly in deep love with one another and the dancing made it even more sensual and romantic. Katie is a gorgeous actress and Marc is an absolute babe, any girl would want the chance to love him too. I loved this movie and I watch it everytime I'm feeling low. Check it out, you jus may love it too. Read more Less
