Im so proud of this latin masterpiece. This album is, by far, her best work ever. it is so eclectical, full of different styles and has a mixture of emotions that could easily drive anyone insane. I think shaki was able to combine every emotion you can ever imagine and capture its pure essence in a way that you can relate every single song to a different state of mind. You go from wacky teenager in Escondite Ingles to darkly depressed in No, going through festive in La Tortura, madly upset in Lo Imprescindible and get a true, almost orgasmic extasis in Las De La Intuicion (my all-time favorite EVER). You go from one place to another. From a romantic, breezy, lonely island in En tus Pupilas, to a theater back in the 40s in Obtener un si. La Pared is like speeding up on a highway at night, Dia Especial is like running desperately and Dia de Enero is a pure Bossa Nova sunset. But the fascinating thing about this is that each track is so deep that the mental images you get may be completly different from person to person, from time to time. You can practically see the music because it takes you to a level when youre not just hearing but FEELING the songs in all of your senses. I close my eyes and see all these images i have described before, feel it all over my body. This album is a mind estimulator. If you were to think La Tortura defined the whole album, you couldnt be more wrong As Shaki herself one said, this album was kind of like her graduation from the music college, and Im glad, proud and certain to say that she graduated with all the honors that can ever be given.

Cons: I wish the album had more tracks.
Shakira is one of the best Latin artists around today. And Fijacion Oral Vol. 1 is a total triumph in the Latin/Pop world. She has really catchy songs like La Pared, Las De La Intuicion, No, and Dia Especial. I wish there were more songs on the album, 12 sometimes isn't enough. Shakira is so awesome and I totally can't wait for Oral Fixation Vol. 2.

Pros: All songs are good; especially Track 1.
Cons: Track 6 sounds messy, but it's pretty good.
This is a perfect summer album to listen to and just kick back and relax. I like the mixture of sound. It's not so 80's or 90's. It took me some time to like all the songs. Because when I heard heard it, I thought to myself "This isn't Shakira". I also thought that it was one of those albums that you just put together in a 1 2 3. No. I noticed that she and the producers did in fact take their time in creating this fantasic and diverse ensamble of music. I gave a 4 for the music because there was one song that kinda bugged me. Overall it's a great album to relax and listen to.
