Formed in the northern California town of Pleasanton, Field Trip specialized in a pop-oriented, roots-tinged adaptation of the Minneapolis alternative sound (especially the Replacements and Soul Asylum). The quartet was led by brothers Jim (vocals, songwriting, guitar, mandolin) and Tom Galbraith (drums), with guitarist Anthony Quezada and bassist Greg Kinkle rounding out the instrumentation.
