Puerto Rican Latin rock band Fiel a la Vega was formed in 1994 by local musicians Ricky Laureano and Tito Auger, who were previously participating in Los Arraizas Voladores, a group formed in 1989 and led by brothers Pedro and Jorge Arraiza. After they were joined by percussionist Papo Román, the five-piece act recorded a self-titled debut album, released in 1996, followed by a live record called El Concierto Acústico, captured during a performance in July of 1997. After issuing A Quien Pueda Interesar, the band concentrated itself on a project to play along with a symphonic orchestra in a concert successfully performed in March of 1999 at San Juan's Fine Arts Center. That same year, Fiel a la Vega released Tres.
