A Wonderful Movie
Pros: Great performances and music as well as a glimpse into a sad reality.
Cons: This historic fiction reminds us of a sad past.
Fiddler on the Roof is a story of a small Jewish village. This village is very established and holds its traditions in high esteem, being very set in its ways. As times are changing, the villagers want to hold fast to these traditions, but as a family finds, that doesnât always happen. As a manâs three daughters find love and become more and more eccentric. This is a fantastic movie that has and will continue to carry on through the ages.

Cons: A shame more people don't watch it anymore
When asked what some of my favorite all time movies are, I always forget. Until, I see one that has always been dearly loved. Fiddler on The Roof is one of them!
A great movie for the family at Passover. A great movie for anyone, at any time. It takes place Czarist Russia at the turn of the century. I love the dancing, the singing and the sense of heritage that it brings to the viewer. My favorite is with Israeli actor, Topol singing and dancing, "If I were a rich man". I love the way the show getting ready for the Sabbath...
I want the sound tract, because I never tire of the music. One dance scene I particular enjoyed was in a tavern scene when Tevye and the butcher were celebrating the consent to marry Tevye's oldest daughter.

A perfect film about tradition and change in late 19th Century Ukraine. The role of a lifetime for Topol.

THIS IS A MOVIE OF FAMILY VALUE, MORAL, UNDERSTANDING, BETWEEN GENERATIONS. A VERY GOOD MOVIE FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY TO SIT AND WATCH AT LEAST ONCE. I SHOULD KNOW, WHEN EVER ONE OF US KIDS GOT INTO TROUBLE THIS MOVIE WAS WATCHED SO WE COULD UNDERSTAND OUR PUNISHMENT BETTER! THIS IS A STORY ABOUT A JEWISH FAMILY BUT DOES APPLY TO OTHERS LIKE MY SELF.

Very enjoyable and moving. Excellent performances including the one by Israeli-actor Topol. Watch for a young Paul Michael Glaser.
