As one of probably less than a dozen fans of Phil Ochs who was born after his death, I have had the ability to look back on the entire folk music genre as a whole. Bob Dylan is of course the champion of folk music, but he is little more than a sell-...out. He quickly turned his back on the traumatic political issues of the times, and broke his ties with Ochs. By Dylan's own admission Ochs was his superior, and who am I to disagree? Ochs' music was pure and revealing, and though oftentimes disturbing, he was always true to himself and his cause. This box set captures most of his work and contains satiristic songs such as "Small Circle of Friends" as well as touching songs like "Crucifixion". A wonderful insight into an incredibly interesting period in music and America in general. Read more Less
