get over it!!! (my Misfits rant)

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Aug 10, 2004

    Pros: Everything

    Cons: Nothing

im a complete Danzig fan, that why my user name is danzig, anyway, the point im gettin too is that Danzig left 20 years ago, and as a Danzig fan reviewing this, i think Graves has done justice to the Misfits, Graves has an amazing voice, and people h...ate him becuase he had to be the guy to fill BIG...B-I-G shoes, thets the way i look at it, Graves isnt trying to be Danzig one bit, and the Re-formed Misfits are just as great as the old, but in a completely differant way since these are more metal than punk, so whats the point in judging them based on the old Misfits, ok they shouldnt really be called the Misfits because they have had SO many members in the past, they have kinda lost the Misfits blood, and if they were called something else, people wouldnt hate Graves as much as the Die hard Danzig fans do, but why not dwell on the past when you can just go out and get Danzig albums? why not listen to the Misfits with Graves and give it a chance and stop being stupids turds about the situation? hell, Fat mike out of NOFX got over it!!!........ so...... as i was saying,This is a great album, (now thats what i call a rant!!!) Misfits - Famous Monsters

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Oct 23, 2003

    Pros: Great sound, lyrics

Cons: Last CD w/Michale Graves, Doyle

The best guitarist in punk rock shreads all over this album with reckless abandon. Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein shows his mastery of the classic punk three chord progression from start to finish. Songs to look out for include Witch Hunt, Helena an...d the opening Kong. This is classic Misfits horror punk of yesterday combined with current methods of album production for a clean sound. Michale Graves' voice is awesome and it's too bad things didn't work out after this album was made. Read more Less

    Danzig...Graves... its all good!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jul 10, 2003

Danzig is gone accept it! Danzig has made some great albums on his own anyway! So, now there are now two great bands to appreciate: Danzig and The Misfits. If you miss Danzig go buy one of his great albums! Having said that and being a Misfit fan... I enjoyed this line up with Michael Graves and Dr. Chud just as much as the old Danzig days, if not better in some ways. This album is a little more heavy metal sounding, though it is not as heavy as "American Pyshco" There is not one song one this album I don't like. I expecially like "Helena" Didn't "Gates of Kong" appear in WCW? If you like this album definately buy "American Psycho" They have the same band line up and sound similar but the music is heavier. Reformed For The Worst

By Yahoo! Shopping User  May 22, 2002

The "new" Misfits (Misfits without Danzig) are disappointing compared to the Misfits from '77-'83. As a completely different band, they are good.. but what we've been shown in the early days, we expect a lot better. As oidhche_shamhna said, Only and ...Doyle had that Christian-pride band and broke up the Misfits for "daddy". Although I respect them both, I agree. They shouldn't have been selfish and ended what could have been the best punk band. Why this gets a "2" and not a "1" is because of the catchy Danzig-type 50s backing vocals, but they stole them.. so, what can I say. You decide. Read more Less

    Modern classic with living legends.
New songs, new scares, and a somewhat different flavor and aura about this one.
    A little more metal.

    Kryst The Conquerer

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Oct 7, 2001

Kryst The Conquerer is back and still trying to get some credit for being in Glenn Danzig's old band "The Misfits" go ahead buy this stupid album, we all remember that when Jerry and Doyle could have stayed in The Misfits They chose to work for thier... Daddy! and when Danzig, Zing & Von were doing Samhain, Jerry & Doyle had thier nice christian metal band called Kryst The Conquerer, I know who you Jerry & Doyle really are, they wish they could go back to 1983 and stay with Glenn, but times change and Glenn will not work with quiters. So go ahead and buy the nice rip off artist's new album. Read more Less

    RE: Punks in trouble

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Aug 16, 2001

Oh ye of little mind, apparently, considerably smaller genitalia. The funny thing is, every one of the "now" bands you mentioned (slipjock, limp dick, etc) possess all the credibility, uniqueness, and viatality of a two-day old McDonald's Happy Meal ...(minus the special sauce, of course). In other words, like yourself, your select bands, have no taste and even less imagination. If wasn't for bands like the Misfits, Metallica and the Melvins, half (if not more) of the bands currently pumping out "punk," would have no idea how to "write" a song, using the term write loosely. Most of the bands you mentioned, if not all of them, learned how to "play" their instruments by honing in on the musical genius of the Misfits, Metallica, Motorhead, and the Melvins. In short, you're right, the current state of punk is in trouble. So long as its left to diaper-rash victims, not unlike yourself.Sincerely,Thirty
