Pro Reviews: Family Tree (Dig)

  • All Music Guide

This import from Argentinabased record label Music Brokers features 28 tracks of Ramones covers, rarities, and solo cuts from the bandmembers themselves, as well as a host of other acts. Lovingly compiled and dutifully annotated, the twodisc set is an odd mix of gems and throwaways that falls neatly into the "collectorsonly" bin. Family Tree may be a mess, but it's an inspiring one.
