    Incredible!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  May 10, 2003 | 31 out of 38 found this Fallen review helpful

Heres a rock band to listen to! Rather than the norm lately, which is to have a tough-looking guy who always ends up sounding like Lemmy from Mõtõrhead, we have here a pixie-ish girl singer who will blow your ears off with her powerful, but beaut...iful, voice. Her voice complements the epic arrangements of strings, piano, and heavy guitar beautifully. Also, pretty lyrically impressive for a young group. Read more Less

    Diamonds in The Rough

By Yahoo! Shopping User  May 21, 2003 | 14 out of 18 found this Fallen review helpful

The debut from Little Rock, Arkansas hometown duo is a mixture of Goth, Alternative, Hard Rock, and a little Techno. Its an original sound like THIS Music Worshipper has never heard. Its completely original in a world of They sound like this and they... sound like that. The music is textured and luxuriant. The NATURAL talent of Amy Lee (Lead and Background Vocals), and Ben Moody (Lead and Rhythm Six-strings) shines through in the radio/soundtrack hit Bring Me To Life featuring Paul McCoy of 12 Stones. The song flat out JAMS! But its a different sound, somehow. Ethereal and almost epic. The CD has three slower tracks with Amy singing almost acapella, featuring her amazing voice and some very graceful piano work. They are beautiful, heartfelt songs which thoroughly capture you with the lyrics and release you with the music. The other remaining seven tracks are pretty much heavier and more aggressive. The guitar work of Moody is astounding and the riffs are definitely a showcase of talent. However, THIS Audiophiles favorite aspect of Fallen is most definitely Amy Lees choral arrangements. Obviously coming from experience in music somewhere down the line, the choral additions are breathtaking. Favorite Track? Whisper. Its the exclamation point at the end of a long-awaited and, dare I say, much needed musical statement. Read more Less

Ive listened to this CD so many times Ive lost count. Most CDs have at least 1 song that a person doesnt listen to or tends to skip past: not this one. It has everything -- awesome music, deep and meaningful lyrics, and Amy Lees voice....mesmerizing.... I saw a negative comment on Evanescence recently, stating they were copying a certain Alternative band....not so -- they stand alone. Read more Less

This is an amazing album from beginning to end. Evanescence breathes new life into the altenative music genre with their darkly poetic lyrics and solid rock sound. This is not bubble-gum pop rock- this album will touch your hearts and minds. We can e...xpect great things to come of Evanescence, Im certain!!! Read more Less

EVANESCENCE BEST ALBUM I’VE HEARD IN A L

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Aug 28, 2003 | 4 out of 6 found this Fallen review helpful

With the cost of CD’s and the lack of quality in today’s music it’s no wonder that I haven’t bought a CD in a very long time. However Evanescence has succeeded where all others have failed and after previewing this album online I immediately went... out and bought it. Fallen is an album that is worthy of buying. The lyrics are great and the music is absolutely incredible. I can’t wait for them to release their next album. Read more Less

    New and Refreshing

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Mar 2, 2003 | 4 out of 6 found this Fallen review helpful

"Bring Me To Life" from the Daredevil soundtrack caught my attention. It was strong (actually, the best part of the movie), beautiful and new. So I too went digging into the file sharing world to see what else there was of this group. And I'm hooked.... I'm in love. I want to say it's a cross between Tori Amos and Linkin Park. But really, they're so much more. They are their own. Amy's voice reaches a wide range and it's hard to get out of your head. And really, I don't want this music out of my head. Cannot wait for Tuesday's release. I havn't been this excited since Matchbox 20's new album and Norah Jones! Read more Less
