If your biased coming into the film....

Pros: Presents plenty of solid facts

Cons: Plays at the emotions a little too much, Moore slants the films point of view to his own

I just want to start off by saying that whatever your opinoin about Michael Moore, every American owes it to themselves to see this film. This is because it is shown what interests that the President has in Iraq besides terrorism (which there has ne...ver been established a link between terrorism and Iraq). Also is the infamous moment when President Bush froze under pressure when America was attacked. But, there are parts where it becomes a little shameful the way Moore plays to the viewers emotions. He does this by having a mother of a dead soldier read a letter from her son that died in Iraq. In the letter he admits that he does not understand why anyone would consider re-electing Bush. There is some comedy in the film in the form of irony. In one scene Moore stands outside of Congress and asks Congressmen one by one as they walk by to enlist their children into the military and into the war. He does this because there is only one senator and no one in the House has a child in the military.Having said all of this, I will re-instate my opinion that while there may be a little of an agenda on Moore's behalf, the facts are a bit overwhelming and so is the corruption that you will be a witness to. To anyone who refuses to see this movie because Moore is a "liar and left-wing nutcase" my answer is to quit rationalizing and go out and just see the movie. Watching it doesn't mean that you agree with it.And anyone that says that it is not factual and not a documentary without seeing it is just ignorant. Read more Less

Scary to think about, yet it is the truth

    By IowaSunrise  Oct 11, 2004 | 8 out of 14 found this Fahrenheit 9/11 (2004) review helpful

Pros: Provides an insight on how Bush lied to us and paralyzing us with fear, the rating of "R" is appropiate for some scenes

Cons: Not sure how effective it would be if a conservative would view this

This movie is darn right scary to me, yet I think it tells an accurate picture of how the administration are using fear to their advantage. I think the issue of fear is the main focus because on 9/11, we were paralyzed with fear because we didn't... know who to believe and who to trust, yet this movie show the events on how the government used our fears for their own political gains. Prior to the Iraqi War, I actually believed what the president said and the actions he did. However, the events after the Iraq war and the scenes that showed our troops abusing the prisioners made me feel pathetic as a human being. To be quite honest, I couldn't sleep on the night after I watched the movie because I was upset and angry to even think that these possibilities could be true. I think after watching this movie, the events that were shown may or may not answer these key questions: Are we a democracy or a dictatorship? Are we American citizens who are champions of freedom, or people who are the arrongant, that live in the only superpower? Are we compassionate, kind loving people, or are we inhumane and hateful? Can we trust this president, or can't we trust him? Is our government scaring us to keep us safe, or are they scaring us for thier own political benefit?I don't know what to think anymore. I think this is a good movie to have some soda and some popcorn around, but just in case you may get angry and/or upset, I would recommend sleep aids too. The rating of "R" is appropiate for the movie. I am actually convinced of what I saw is true, yet I'm not sure if it convinces the conservative population. Read more Less
