FIFA 2003 makes its debut with a new engine designed to better reflect an individual team's play style and statistics. Realism in the areas of ball control and in corner and free kicks has been addressed, with more options for players to be as precise with their shots and passes as possible, taking into account the athlete's ability under their control. Power, angle, and wind are but a few of the variables designed to influence each kick.

As in previous games in the successful franchise, a full FIFPro license has been secured for authentic players. Sixteen leagues are available to play in, with a selection of 450 teams from all corners of the globe. The sound has also been enhanced with different commentary teams calling the action, and the exciting plays leading up to the half and the end of the game can be witnessed during special replays. ~ Scott Alan Marriott, All Game Guide

    Well unfortunately not. They may have produced better game this year but underneath all there is same old FIFA, like its usual predecessors.There have been improvement to the 2002 but it is still dull...Comparing it to the Pro Evolution(Winning Eleve...n series) only what fifa does better is graphics the rest is just same old story.. You have a choice from about 20 goals which keep constantly repeating. After a while it gets frustrating the way comp does stupid things. Shooting at the goal is like 50% chance, even thou you direct shot left it will go right... Long shots are non existent as usual, keeper will just calmly pick the ball up. personally I don’t feel like i am in charge, like in the rest of the games of this series. Lets get it right its not worth buying this game.After few days I’ve got bored...FIFA will never change. only thing that i feel different is that i am missing $50 from my pocket.If you ask me buy your selves a PRO EVOLUTION 2(WINNING ELEVEN 6) this March if you want to experience real soccer during this cold winter.Fifa will need another 5 years to make there game exciting as PRO EVO does.........     i believe the game is definite step up from 2002 in passing and control wise, the graphics at some points are amazing but things like how the crowd looks from a distance has diminished 2002 looked better in that area and the father the play is the wo...rse the graphics are, up close its great , the only problem is on the distance. the passing is better but what happened to the bending of passes and on kicks, and changing the controls was frustrating you can no longer header or pass with simply o or x , and i just cant believe the national team of japan is not in this game yet they hosted the world cup !!! it has its advantages and a step up from 2002, but it missed a few key things that would have made this the best of all time.
