Led by vocalist/guitarist Steve Grimes, Boston hardcore quartet the F.U.'s were musically skilled and often intelligent on albums like Kill for Christ (1982), My America (1983), and Do We Really Want to Hurt You? (1984). the F.U.'s then added guitarist Steve Martin and changed their name to the Straw Dogs, a more metallic outfit; drummer Chris "Bones" Jones was tragically killed in a car accident the day before the new band's debut EP was released in 1986.
