The sevenpart "FStops," which is the centerpiece of this CD, is named after the time exposure settins used in cameras. Other than the "2nd Flow," which has some odd vocalizing by Harris and a meandering feature for his dijeridoo, the concise pieces hold one's interest and feature Harris, his quartet with keyboardist Darrell Grant and two occasional guest saxophonists in fine form. But it is the other selections, particularly "D.A.S.H.," "Burundi" (which keeps on shifting time signatures), the ballad "Generations" and the lengthy Say Essay" that are most memorable. Craig Harris takes some of his finest recorded solos ever throughout this project, making it obvious that he is a major trombonist.
