Extreme Ghostbusters Game Boy Advance

Based upon the Extreme Ghostbusters cartoon series, this GBA title follows Eduardo and Kylie, two of the new Ghostbusters team members, as they search for their captured friends and try to foil the nefarious plot instigated by Count Mercharior. Gameplay comprises two disparate modes: one presents a top-down view of the Ecto-1 as players race through the city streets, the other, a side-scrolling jaunt in which players, armed with a proton gun, venture through the level bustin' ghosts and avoiding the traps within. The game is mission-based, and in true Ghostbusters fashion, players will be called out to specific areas of the city in order to deal with the reported paranormal activities found there. These vertically scrolling side-missions require players to weave through the streets of New York, avoiding traffic while acquiring time bonuses and keeping an eye on the EKG meter.

Once at the site in question, players, as either of the two remaining characters -- each of whom possesses unique jump, speed, and weapon attributes -- must make their way through the level (of which there are 12 in all), eradicating specters and ghouls. Familiar gadgets, such as the ghost trap (both, the old and new trap variations are available), and helpful items, such as bombs, will help Eduardo and Kylie survive the onslaught of supernatural enemies and the three hellish bosses they must face.
