    Have you ever seen The Rose? The soundtrack album is great. Especiallly the last two songs. It makes yiu cry. The Rose is her best song ever!

    Ahem...well from her first album up to this point Bette has done many good/bad songs. That's pointed out also in this greatest hits package. There's one never before heard song from the "Johnny Carson" show before it was off the air for good, as we...ll as some soundtrack songs. I don't care for "The Rose" soundtrack, never have, and never will. It is the worst soundtrack performance EVER heard in my entire life!! However, the title track itself is very appealing to me. I do like "Wind Beneath My Wings", "Do You Want To Dance", and her live recording of "Shiver Me Timbers" ALWAYS makes me cry every time I hear it (it's so good). Don't dismiss Bette though, regardless. She's such a wonderful comedian, actress, and singer (when she's taking it seriously, that is) and I'll always adore those qualities in her. Just watch out for her loudmouth! Read more Less

    This compilation was put together by Bette, and features a great cross-section of her recordings over the years. Althought many of the tunes are classics (and rightly so!), there are some little gems that even the casual listener will enjoy immensel...y, particularly "Shiver Me Timbers" and "Only in Havana." There is something for everyone in this great collection, from goofy 60's tunes to "From A Distance," which I consider to be our new national anthem. You can't NOT enjoy this music! Read more Less

    This CD is fantastic. It has a great variety of music from oldies remakes to swing to a few Bette classics. It is vibrant and a pleasure to listen to. I loved the CD and would recommend it to anyone, whether a big Midler fan or not. (And I really li...ked the pits ending for a really terrific song :-) Enjoy, Reyna Hernandez Read more Less
