, January 17, 2001Ahem...well from her first album up to this point Bette has done many good/bad songs. That's pointed out also in this greatest hits package. There's one never before heard song from the "Johnny Carson" show before it was off the air for good, as well as some soundtrack songs. I don't care for "The Rose" soundtrack, never have, and never will. It is the worst soundtrack performance EVER heard in my entire life!! However, the title track itself is very appealing to me.
I do like "Wind Beneath My Wings", "Do You Want To Dance", and her live recording of "Shiver Me Timbers" ALWAYS makes me cry every time I hear it (it's so good). Don't dismiss Bette though, regardless. She's such a wonderful comedian, actress, and singer (when she's taking it seriously, that is) and I'll always adore those qualities in her. Just watch out for her loudmouth! ...
