    A lot of compilations were put together for this one man. Some had a great selection, others failed for their inconsistency. However, what we have here is a best-of CD that sounds more than promising. Indeed, not only do we find the foremost hits (ie..., Hey Joe, Purple Haze) but a wide selection of the classic tunes as well. This CD contains tracks that first appeared on the rare Cry of Love --ie, Nightbird Flying, Freedom, and Angel. Moreover, also included is Woodstock's "Star Spangled Banner" and the obscure "Dolly Dagger." A wide array of gems to make a Hendrix fan happy. Read more Less

    Pros: It's Hendrix!

    Cons: Second half of the album is just a touch slower than the first half

    Great album, really good lyrics. If you haven't listened to much Hendrix, this is the album to get. Has all his hits and then some. Just a real real good rock album. The only qualm I have with this album is it's second half is a bit slowe...r than the first, but it still boasts Castles Made of Sand and the Star Spangled Banner to finish it all up.He was a pretty OK guitarist, wasn't he? :) Read more Less

    Jimi Hendrix Alternative giant

    Pros: Nice tunes

    Cons: Not Remastered enough maybe

    I say alternative giant because he played it all and played it well. Blues and Rock at it's best. Purple Haze, Foxey Lady and Crosstown Traffic are a few of my favorites. Many catchy songs on this one. I would recommend this album to anyone who d...oesn't really know Hendrix music. Isn't rock great? Anyone who doesn't think so doesn't understand how much talent and effort goes into it. Read more Less

    This guy is without a doubt the best guitarist in rock history while Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Randy Rhoads is the best guitarist in heavy metal history.     This is one of the best compilation albums I have ever heard.Songs like"Red House","Castles made of sand","All along the watchtower",and of course"Voodoo child Slight Return" can never be reproduced again and he did it all way back in 1969.A must for... anyone unsure about trying Jimi Hendrix.
