After the more experimental Slang, Leppard returned to their polished over produced pop metal sound. Yeah it's cheesy but it's fun isn't it? Listening to this brought me back to high school when we used to cruise around in my old beater with Hysteria cranked up, although this probably sounds closer to Adrenalize.
Promises, Paper Sun, Goodbye, Kings of Oblivion.....all great tunes. The Def Lep layered vocals are back in abundance. The boys are looking a little old these days but they're still putting out great stuff.
One of Def Leppards best. Much better than Slang! Too bad the airheads on radio gave it no airplay, but "It's only love" "To be alive" and "Demolition man" is better than most of the junk on the radio today
They never play like a hysteria, They never say like pyromania. They are always seeking new thing. But, " LEGEND " is not caming back. They made listenable album. This album like soap foam. You will be squeezed quickly. Only, you can buy it for side one.
The majority of these songs are reminiscent of good old classics like 'animal', pour some sugar on me' and more. This has excellent lead work which many bands these days haven't heard of. Much more harder than the rubbish they called slang
On this album they're a lot closer to what they are. A band that makes songs with great hooks and doesn't make you want to kill yourself at the end of the album. A rare find these days considering all the other "rock stars" who are at the top right now can't admit they're loving life on top....for now.
The only thing missing on this album is the heavier edge from the early days. I don't know if we'll ever see that again, but this album is great to listen to none the less.
yeh bro! i gonna rock it hard i like it this one. my frend tell me the drummer have only one arm but i dont belive him now. i rock it like a good one! is a good one this hear album to like! rock it hard bro
I really enjoyed myself when I first listened to this album of Def Leppard. I'm a fan of this band and I had been waiting for the launch of this album for a while, and it didn't disappointed me, not at all!
I recommend it to all the Leppard's fans!!!!
My Mother loves This Group. It is Her most favorite Group of them all. She loves all of the albums including vault. All I hear is the albums being played over & over agian. Anyway gots to get back to work. BYE.
If they got air play like they did 10 years ago, this one would blow everyone else off the charts. True Def Leppard at it's finest, I hope they keep it up. Two thumbs up!!
I was alittle disappointed with this cd, way over produced, they need to get away from Mutt Lange, but there are some good songs on this disk, such as Paper Sun, To Be Alive, and Day After Day, the rest is crap.
Okay album, definitely not as good as Hysteria but better than Slang. I didnt know whether to give 3 or 4 stars. So actually I'd give it 3.5. Goodbye has too much of a late 90's ballad (read
This album is simply Great!!
Get it!
to say the least. I love this album....
A
perfect blend of the edgey-ness of Slang and the pop rock
sound they made so popular. Leps are and have been my
favorite band for years and this is the reason why. They
are solid and have found their nitch. Can't wait for
the next album.
Hey just gotta say that leppard r my favorite band 2and they
This album realy amazed me, I would never have
imagined that Hysteria could be tied but Def Leppard did
it with Euphoria.
All the songs are perfect and
no one could ask for any better.
I just say them
preform in West Virgina and no other band on this planet
can ever compare to Da Leps.
I will always be a
true and loyal fan, and that will never change.
I
can't wait until they release their next album/

...the band continues to fall short of mature artistic growth. Euphoria is a predictable step backward. Where Slang provided a small element of hope for awakened inspiration, this CD attempts to recreate the tired Hysteria model.
The Lep's only have a few decent songs on this album, they have lost alot of their metal, & hard rock sound, they sound more pop rock than anything. They newer albums have lost too much of their "heavier" edge. I know the guys are getting older...but the "poppy" sounding stuff just doesn't cut it!
It's great that leppard has stuck to its
roots. It is a wonderful album.
In a more enlightened musical era, this would definitely rank as one of the best albums of the year (decade?). The album completely hooks you from the first song to the last. Songs like Promises, Goodbye, Demo Man etc. are as good as any songs on any album they made. The fact that radio prefers to play schock bands instead of great stuff like this is a crime.
Def Leppard just keep amazing their fans with music such as this. It's great to hear real rock is still alive!!!
While i love def lep very much, i was quite disappointed with this album. When vivian campbell joined def lep (and i loved his work with Dio), i was hoping a more hard rock/metal sound with catchy power chords, this was not the case. The whole album sounded very "popish" to me. However, i still enjoyed it; there were a couple of good songs that i enjoyed.
Yes, I gave it a 5 anyway. I liked the steps forward Lep took with Slang, I'm a little disappointed that they went back to the Mutt Lange Overproduction Sound on this one. Let's be honest here, if Adrenalize was Hysteria 2, this one's Hysteria 3, but it's worked for Lep for so many years, one can hardly blame them. Still, it's one of those albums you can listen to over and over and not get bored with. Even though it is a return to the tried and true production-heavy sound, it's still undeniably unique on it's own. And it's a damn good album at that, kind of a merging of the old with the new. One one extreme you have the technological wonder of Hysteria, on the other is the rawer-edged, honesty of Slang. If a balance can exist between the two, then that balance is evident on Euphoria.
These guys really deserve a hand. Them and Metallica are the only 80's heavy metal bands still standing. Euphoria is classic def leppard and the fans still respond. Though not nearly as big as they were in late 80's and early 90's, they still rock hard!!
While I really did like Slang, it's not what we're used to hearing from Def Leppard. I love the old sound and I'm glad they went back to it. Joe Elliot is as sexy as ever singing the songs on Euphoria!! Keep it up guys!
