A GOOD COMMERCIAL ALBUM!
The first thing i noticed listening to this album is Steve Perry's wide range vocal (Mother, Father is a good example). Schon's complex guitar riffs sound so dynamic. "Escape" is probably one of the best A.O.R. albums ever made!

This was probably Journey's biggest seller and their first big album of the 80's and for my money, their LAST great record as a whole. It is typical Journey fair with the usual great vocals and harmonys as well as great guitar work but from this point on it kind of went down hill for them even though the video era was kind to them on their next 2 albums. MTV took to them big time and their video's were very popular as was the video's from Steve Perrys solo work but the real hey day for these guys was the late 70's and VERY early 80's.
This was the 1st Journey album that I ever got laid to.
