The much-lauded space rock band Escapade was formed in 1996 by drummer Hadley Kahn. Although capable of playing straight-out space rock, the group specialize in a more unified, improvisational take on the genre. Influenced by Krautrock and psychedelic bands of the 1960s and 1970s, Escapade nonetheless has produced albums that do not simply sound like copies of another era.
