This is my favorite album ever. The lyrics aren't anything special, but combined with the da Beatminerz grimy a$$ tracks it is ill. LISTEN TO 'SLAVE' and zone the f&*$ out.

Released in 1993, Black Moon's debut Enta Da Stage was a real departure from the high-energy extroverted hip-hop of the time. Emcees Buckshot and 5ft. Accelerator (though Buckshot dominates) attack their verses with an aggressive nihilism not heard since Kool G. Rap's peak. Theirs is a grim reality, filled with guns, weed, and violence. Buckshot displays none of the usual ganster remorse; he is a willful public menace. The Beatminerz production crew craft subtereanean beats to match Buckshot's mayhem. The tracks are dark, layered with muted jazz samples, and seemingly bottomless. Enta Da Stage is hip-hop made for headphones and basements rather than for the clubs. It set the tone for much of the hip-hop to follow. Biggie Smalls suicidal thoughts and Noreaga's boistrious thuggery both have their roots here. The album marked a turning point in hip-hop.

Biography

Black Moon

They didn't gain as much critical hype as other acts in the independent rap scene (perhaps due to a laid-back release schedule), but Black Moon has been one of its better acts. Buckshot, 5Ft, and DJ Evil Dee debuted in 1993 with Enta da Stage, an excellent album with plenty of old-school vibes on singles like "How Many Emcees" and "Who Got the Props."
