Billed as the first "massive multiplayer online real time first person shooter role playing game" ("MMORTFPSRPG"), Avaria Corporation's Endless Ages transports players into a world where time is meaningless, and beings from the past, present, and future fight for survival. Mystical creatures, race-unique technologies, varied environments, changing quests, constant world updates, housing, player vs. player arenas, and much more are featured in 100 cubic miles in the realm of Iia. Players form organizations, alliances, craft items, cast spells, run a business, fight monster races, and explore the varied locales as one of four character types: Amphibious, Male Human, Female Human, or Bloblic.
Playable characters are rated in overall agility, hit points, armor strength, bonus stats, proficiencies, and abilities, and each avatar is customizable to some degree (depending on race) in the appearance of eyes, mouth, body, and hair. Bloblics are giant creatures skilled in the art of taking and giving damage, Amphibians are small creatures that ride animals and use them as weapons. Humans are balanced and rely on wit, learned skills and politics. Characters can train in a dozen skills including weapon tech, melee, shape shifting, engineering, armor and sword making (smithing), alchemy, magic, hiding, revealing, piloting (jetpacks, hover bikes, jet skis, hydro crafts), familiars, and mind control.
There are various possibilities for interaction in the world of Endless Ages: player vs. player (PvP), player vs. monster (PvM), NPC-directed quests, ranged and melee fighting, trading, shopping (including a Black Market), banking, crafts, house building, and even Player Killing (a.k.a. Murders). A player is flagged as a Player Killer (name is emblazoned in red) after slaying seven or more other players in unprovoked attacks. Life becomes extremely difficult for these outcasts, as they lose privileges in many areas and invite incessant attacks by their mere presence at many locations.
Weapons and creatures in Iia utilize eight different "channels" to inflict damage, requiring players to be aware of the variations and protect themselves by building resistances against channeled damage in the realms of Normal, Fire, Water, Rune, Relic, Earth, Air, and Death. Each of the four playable character types features a NPC race leader who is willing to impart knowledge and control the the NPC players under their rule. Housing in Endless Ages ranges from stone huts and log cabins to silos and castles, and arenas offer players unrestricted melee fighting without penalty in two types of combat: Team Arena (clan vs clan) and Last Man Standing (individual matches). ~ Michael L.
