    It's true the Beatles were awesome and the music world would be very different without them, but even John Lennon said, "Before Elvis there was nothing". Elvis was the man who started it all, and like it or not....he will always be "The King". His mu...sic is as fresh as the day it was recorded. There was nothing like him before, there has been nothing like him since, and there never will be. If the man hadn't kicked down the doors and opened up the world of "teenage music", chances are the young people of the world would still be confined to the limits of their parents "easy listening" music. Without Elvis, there would be no Eminem, no Kid Rock, no Metallica, no Limp Bizkit.......no hard rocking rebellious performers of today telling the uptight haughty snobs of the world to shove it.     I am just discovering Elvis for the first time. Now I know why so many people love him. This is a definitely a GREAT CD!

    Elvis will always remain The King of Rock and Roll. Listening to this album never tires me. I am always amazed at what he accomplished. He just knew how to sing, perform and convey a message through song. He just got music. I love this album and list...en to it so often. You'll never go wrong giving it as a gift either. He still rocks to this day! Read more Less

    For a collection of #1 hits????
    That makes no sense. This a great album. It doesn't contain some of the well known songs as many popular songs never reach #1. But you are guaranteed alot of your favorites and a complete set of hits.

    What can I say that the rest of you Elvis fans haven't already said...he was and still is The King and he always will be....I went for a two-hour walk yesterday, and as I listened to him sing, I was mesmerized over and over again by his passionate, s...oulful voice. I don't know if he influenced the Beatles or vice-versa, but hey, they were all revolutionary figures and all deserve due credit...it really doesn't matter if Elvis was the chicken or the egg already...ciao!!!     Last time I checked, Elvis was a MAJOR influence on the Beatles...but I still wouldn't compare the two...the Beatles are amazing and timeless and TRUELY rock n' roll. A Little Less Conversation is the only redeeming tidbit on this album.
