    It's not a classic...

    ...but it's not bad either. Without a doubt, 'Elements of Corrosion' is the fastest, most technical OPPRESSOR release ever. My favorite release by OPPRESSOR is actually a 7" EP {Aaarrrgh! I forget what it's called} that came out just before 'Agony'.... It was limited to only a few hundred copies, but God is it brutal! Find it if you can! Anyway...I really hated the MORBID ANGEL style guitar tone on this CD when i first heard it, but it's grown on me over the years and now i think it's kind of cool. Some clarity is definitely lost because of the guitar tone, but at the same time the music is heavier because of it. OPPRESSOR's drummer has gotten faster, which is great of course. There are 1 or 2 songs on this CD that don't do anything for me and i really miss Tim King's old guttural style {It pops up only a handful of times here}, but i must say that 'Elements of Corrosion' is still quite good. In case you didn't know OPPRESSOR has split up, which is really too bad, because their music was evolving.
