Pros: Apperance, cooks well
Cons: Glass door difficult to clean, electronic touch panel difficult to operate
This is a very good looking oven and cooks quite well (for an electric oven). Unlike some of the other reviews, I must say that the oven has a good size cavity (18x24x14) and so a cookie sheet fits just fine. I mainly bake bread, 4 loaves at the time is not a problem - I think 8 loaves might work too. I am not too happy with the convection oven; it seems to take too much time and no benefits.
The electronic controls can be quite annoying. There is no key press (it has to detect your finger) and the way you select a program is ... well, unpractical! Electrolux engineers obviously never cooked anything themselves with this thing. Also, oven's controls were dead pretty much within the warrantee - they replaced them within a week and I haven't had troubles after.
Pros: appearance. cooks well
Cons: cleaning interior glas!!!, sliding racks
The sliding racks are a nightmare due to the fact that they slide too easily. The most problematic is cleaning the interior glass. Unlike anything imaginable due to the several pieces of glass. Should anything spill onto the glass front, as did when I basted my turkey, it is impossible to remove the glass. This oven is not worth the money. The fingerprints on the oven front upon
touching the number pad are endless. I gently touch the glass front and have fingerprints. Nice looking oven but not functionally a kitchen dream!
Pros: Clean, easy to use, perfeect cooking throughout
Cons: none for now
Best oven I have ever used...whether its been Viking or Jenn-Air or whatever, this oven wins hands down. I have been cooking professionally for over 20 years now and love this thing in my house. I even cheat sometimes and cook @ home and bring it to the restaurant for the staff. They can tell difference right away. You won't be sorry on this guy.
Pros: None
Cons: Impossible to figure out, uneven cooking, tiny, extremely confusing
We moved into a new apartment where the Electrolux Icon is the only oven. It has been a nightmare thus far. First, the interior cavity is tiny and not even big enough for a cookie sheet. Next, we have struggled with the controls and can't seem to get the thing to do what we want. Finally, the cooking has been extremely variable and we have yet to get the results we'd expect.
My advice: skip this oven and get something more functional.
