    This movie is wonderful!!!!!! It is absolutely worth seeing. Judy Garland and Fred Astiare are fantastic together. They grace us with their talent...in both singing and dancing.

    and Cyd Charisse tore a ligament, they had to be replaced on this movie by Fred Astaire and Ann Miller, which was all for the best, as Miller makes a funnier villainess and Astaire's stepping in gave us our only chance to see him with Judy Garland. ...The greatest male star and greatest female star of Hollywood musicals aren't perfect together, but they do have more chemistry with each other than with most of their other partners. The script could have been better (for one thing, the Peter Lawford subplot seems unnecessary to me, and drags things down) but it is decently diverting.There are also TOO MANY musical numbers, about twenty; if they'd left out some of the duller ones (e.g. "I Want To Go Back To Michigan") it would have given the others room to breathe. Anyway, just for "Steppin' Out With My Baby" "A Couple Of Swells" "Shakin' The Blues Away" and the "I Love A Piano" medley, plus a few others, I'd give it 4 stars. Read more Less
