    Peace of Mind through Music

    Pros: soothing, beautiful melodies, rich textures

    Cons: careful...close your eyes and you might drift away

    Earthsongs is the perfect album to come home to after a long hard day of work. Listen to “Lotus” while soaking in the tub with a glass of wine and I guarantee your cares will melt away. It is full of beautiful, rich melodies with arrangements of st...ring instruments, violins, and piano. If you enjoy the music of Enya or Clannad, or if you are just looking for an escape, I definitely recommend this album. Read more Less

    Uhm, this album is one of my newage collections. At the first time i listened to this album, i had just been so attracted to all of the songs in that album. The great songs I think are Sometimes when it rains, Lotus or Sleepsongs. But anothers are so... cool, too. Anyway, I hope to listen more albums of Secret Garden. To me, they are the greateast newage artist I've ever known. Read more Less

    Pure and simple this is new age Celticflavored pablum. There is little compelling here except for the nearvirtuoso violin playing of Fionnula Sherry. There are some vocals placed in here, all of them near a whisper and evoking breathlessly the magic just beyond the night sky, the glen, the next kiss or some such. It's very difficult not to be cynical when music like this is not created seemingly as an end in itself with a very, very small but dedicated market niche in mind.
