Earthrise was formed in Williamstown, NJ, in 1975 by Kenn Pierog (bass), Bill Drobile (keyboards), and Greg DiDonato (drums). A keyboard-dominated band, the group's sound was influenced by such classically oriented groups as Emerson, Lake, Palmer. In 1977, Earthrise released their eponymous debut album, which was recorded mostly live in the studio. They released it on their own record label, Arceden.
