Basketball fans return to the court in style with ESPN NBA 2K5. Following the lead of ESPN's earlier seasonal releases, ESPN NFL 2K5 and ESPN NHL 2K5, the title of this year's basketball release reminds gamers of its developer's past hits, with a return to Visual Concept's "2K5" naming scheme. As in the previous year's game however, NBA 2K5 gets the fullon, TVstyle, ESPN treatment, complete with new camera angles, statistical analysis and overlays, and courtside commentary from Hall of Famer Bill Watson. When the hype clears, however, the real action takes place on the hardwood, and this year's game offers a number of adjustments and new features intended to create the series' most realistically flowing pro basketball simulation to date. The new "Next Movement" system is designed to account for each individual NBA player's skills and abilities, in several different areas. A player's particular physical makeup now helps determine how well he performs in key situations, such as running up court on a fast break, or cutting off an open lane on defense. As in other recent additions to the ESPN sports lineup, NBA 2K5 supports online play, through the Xbox Live service. ~ All Game Guide

    Pros: The Best Tru SIM Basketball!!!!

    Cons: Make it harder to have time to play NBA live..

    This game will be awesome!!! They have improved the camera angle by making it closier,gameplay, and realism too. Also they added halftime highlights from the game and the end. If your're looking for a tru sim basketball game, this your game. Sega... has dominated over NBA live series in this department for the last few years. I get both titles each year but I'm always playing my ESPN more because of the realism and in deep franhise mode. It just blows NBA LIVE away each year with the franchise mode because it so in deep and gives you the ability to manage everything and now this year, your'll be able to interact more with the players. Well it's going to be interesting this year with NBA live adding the all star weekend...but it just depend on what your're looking for a tru sim or arcade style basketball game. Well....with the price this year, ESPN NBA 2k5 is a steal!!! This is a must have for your collection...even if your're a NBA live fan!!! Read more Less

    Cons: All Players Have A High Shot %

    I have both NBA Live & this game here. The fun factor for this game is way better. The only thing NBA Live has for it is the All Star Weekend. I find myself playing this game non-stop. This is the best basketball game I've ever played. Way to go ...SEGA!!!!!! The only downfall for this game is each player has a high % of making shots. It's almost like each player has a portion of MJ in them. I'm not complaining about that, because I like high scoring games instead of low scoring (due to defense.) Read more Less
