Duke Nukem is the first game for the Nintendo Game Boy Color featuring that tough-as-nails, take-no-prisoners king of mayhem, Duke Nukem. This time around Duke is locked up in a prison cell on a distant planet, the prisoner of the ~Zorgonites, who are planning on taking over the universe while he's out of action. Duke's mission, of course, is to break out and take down their emperor. No problem, right?

Sure, as long as he can avoid the ~Mechs, guards, wall lasers and ground turrets, airborne darts, various types of probes, zombies, Gelfs, Chuckers, cryogenic mutants, and many other types of foes. On his side Duke has a tank and a rocket ship to find and get around in along with an assortment of weapons to pick up such as the shotgun, stun gun, rocket launcher, and flame thrower. Don't become trigger-happy, though, or you'll use up all of his ammo.

Duke can also find helpful items such as extra lives, access cards to get into hidden areas of the prison, health packs to restore much-needed health points, armor vests, and invincibility orbs, which will make him invincible for 20 seconds.

There are 20 levels of carnage to make your way through, so this game is not recommended for the little ones.

This game is for the GBC only and the battery in the game pak allows you to save up to eight games at a time. ~ Brad Cook, All Game Guide

at first i thought this game would be stupid due to it being a sidescroller instead of a first person game. well... i was wrong. this game is sweet! i spent like 2-4 hours playing it when i first got it and man! well enough with the admiring lets get... to the scores.Control: very good for a sidescroller. especially the fact that u can hang off of ledges.graphics: okay...but for a game boy game its good.sound: awesome! original duke tune! replay: pretty good but not great, u may want to play another game for a while after u beat this one then come back to it.fun factor: duke has done it again another 5 star game!ESRB: Teen, im kinda surprised that its teen theres nothing really bad. the only semi-gory thing in the game is at the end duke can blow the bosses torso off. but its not graphic. its kinda cool!
