"Hail to the king, baby" Duke is back with an all-new look on the Nintendo 64. This 64-Meg update of Duke Nukem 3D, originally released on the PC in 1996, features polygonal environments, new weapons, ~Rumble Pak support and bonus levels from the Duke Nukem 3D: Plutonium Pak add-on disk.

Visual improvements over the PC title include new 3D explosions that leave behind smoke trails, updated scenery objects (including posters and signs) and slightly different layouts in level design. While the environments are now in 3D, all enemy characters, items and weapons are 2D sprites, just like the PC original.

Duke Nukem 64 features a total of 32 levels (six of which are bonus stages) that pay homage to both science-fiction movies and television shows. Notable features include bullet holes appearing in the walls, destructible furniture and interactive elements such as phone booths, toilets, pool tables and arcade games.

The enemies you'll face include: Assault Troopers, alien soldiers armed with pistols and jetpacks; Pig Cops, shotgun-toting pigs that will crouch to avoid your fire; Octabrains, floating creatures that can perform deadly mind blasts; rocket-firing Assault Commanders, who hover atop anti-gravity spin-decks; and other alien creatures.

Duke Nukem is a man who takes pride in his weapons, and this version offers over a dozen lethal goodies to play with, including dual sub-machine guns, pipe bombs, shotguns, laser-activated tripbombs, grenade launchers, pistols, plasma cannons, shrinkers (reduce enemies to a fraction of their size) and expanders (used to inflate enemies until they explode).

The solo game features four levels of difficulty and can be saved with a ~Controller Pak after each level. Gamers can also play along with a friend in the Co-op Mode, or they can just enter a deathmatch with up to three other players. For the first time in a Nintendo 64 game, players can compete against "bots" or computer-controlled opponents. In addition, all 32 levels are available for multi-play. So "shake it baby, shake it" ~ Scott Alan Marriott, All Game Guide
