Oakland rapper Dru Down debuted in 1994 with Explicit Game, scoring a hit with the single "Mack of the Year"; the record also served as a launching pad for his Bay Area cronies the Luniz. Down returned in 1996 with Can You Feel Me; that same year, he also made his film debut in Original Gangstas.
