The first Dragon Quest title on Nintendo DS has players exploring the colorful kingdom of Slimenia, whose ichorous inhabitants have been incarcerated by a gang known as the Plob. One slime remains free, however, and his name is Rocket. Players must guide the aqueous adventurer in a quest to free 100 of his fellow slimes from the clutches of the Plob and its monstrous minions. Since the slimes are little more than glops of goo, they must hop aboard massive tanks to defeat their enemies. Rescued slimes can be called upon as allies, using their distinct abilities to help solve puzzles and assist in battles. Outside of the tank, Rocket can bounce and stretch his way across Slimenia while acquiring weapons and items to customize tanks for future assaults.     Can you save Boingburg from The Plob?

    Pros: Solid gameplay, good strategy, fun exploration

    Cons: Weak story -- but hey, it's about slimes!

    I've spent quite a bit of time playing through this game. Overall it's quite fun, its a action RPG in which you play a slime that has, through no fault of his own, bumbled into the task of saving all of Slimedom. There's a fair bit of ex...ploring, minor puzzle solving, and an extreme amount of collecting. Of of this builds up to giant tank battles in which you and your team (which you build up over time) have to go head-to-head with a successive number of Plob bad-guys. The difficulty seems to level off as you play the game, with subsequent bossing being seemingly easier than earlier ones. But, honestly, the game mechanics don't really get old too fast because the game is really fun to play -- give it a shot! Read more Less

    Pros: great story, good humor, easy control

    You play as Rocket a slime who is trying to save his 100 friends from the plob. The game is full of humor and easy challenges as you go through 7 stages to save your friends and battle some of the plob more goofiness. The gameplay is simple to the po...int of a jumps, floats, and does your electo blast, and b does the throwing, and pickinp up. As Rocket gets more slimes saved more of the town opens up giving you more places to explore. The items and monster you throw on a cart has some meaning in a little bit. The monsters you throw if you get 30 or more and the museum unlocked they will join your tank crew and the items you collect become ammo for you tank. The gameplay heats up when you get the tank and is also the heart of the game. So if you want a funny game or if your a dragon warrior fan this is a must buy. Read more Less
