Pros: Nothing like it on earth!!!!!!!!!!!

    Cons: None

I love this CD so much I have 3 sets, everytime they put it out different, I get it. There is only one singer that I would do that for. He has given me hours of joy. They don't get any better that this.

    One word. WOW

    By BAIT  Mar 3, 2006

    Pros: Songs, and POWERFUL

Cons: Sometimes idiots yelling in the background.

Aside from the occasional idiot yelling in the background i can some up this double live set in one word. WOW. This is so powerful. Standing Outside the Fire has never been so powerful. His performance isn't technically perfect, but it would be b...oring if it were. You can hear and feel the emotion he throws into these songs while on stage. I must admit I find myself listening to Disc1 most of the time. I think the best performance on the set has to be Unanswered Prayers. Partly because it applies directly to me. He throws in so much feeling, and lets the audience sing half the song. They do a GREAT job too. You can really feel the emotion of the audience. You can tell he is having fun and enjoying himself, and it's wonderful that he participates with the audience that much and loves his fans so openly. KUDO's for this one. On a finaly note, when I listen to the two specific songs I mention here I cry, especially Unanswered Prayers. Michael Read more Less

Pro Reviews: Double Live

  • All Music Guide

Garth Brooks' first live album, the generically titled Double Live, is a professionally entertaining album with a few nice bonuses -- including extra verses for "Friends in Low Places" and "The Thunder Rolls," plus three new songs: the dedicated-to-mama "It's Your Song," the Trisha Yearwood duet "Wild as the Wind," and the rocker "Tearin' It Up (And Burnin' It Down)." The handful of new twists on this compilation that selects 25 songs from 25 different dates will surely satisfy diehards.

Biography

Garth Brooks

Garth Brooks is a pivotal figure in the history of country music, no matter how much some country purists would like to deny it. With his commercially savvy fusion of post-Merle Haggard country, honky tonk, post-folk-rock sensitive singer/songwriter sensibilities, and '70s arena rock dramatics, Brooks brought country music to a new audience in the '90s -- namely, a mass... Read more
