Dottie was born in Madison, KY. (She is the wife of Buck Rambo, mother to Reba Rambo, and mother-in-law to Dony McGuire.) She is more influential for the 700 or more worshipful songs she's written over the years, which have inspired facsimiles and numerous covers, than for her own career as a Southern gospel singer or as one of the first female lead guitarists in gospel.
