Daughter of local singer/songwriter Carlinhos Vergueiro and historian Laura de Mello e Souza, Brazilian Dora Vergueiro was captivated by traditional music at a very young age. After singing backup for well-known numbers, the artist made her debut with the release of Leve in 1996, which included contributions from prominent local musicians such as Chico Buarque and Celso Fonseca.
