Both a multi-instrumentalist and good vocalist, Donnie Elbert sang with the Vibraharps from 1955 to 1957. He then recorded for DeLuxe and scored a Top 20 RB hit with "What Can I Do." Elbert went 13 years before getting another hit, "Can't Get Over Losing You," for Rare Bullet in 1970. He had a string of singles, mostly for All Platinum, in the early '70s, the best being "Where Did Our Love Go" in 1971. It peaked at number six on the RB charts (number 15 pop) and was his lone Top Ten single....
