    This is a great movie that should be viewed multiple times if you want to figure it all out. Once you do, it will make you think for days about the possibilities. You might want to also check out the website (or view the DVD extras) so you can read "...The Philosophy of Time Travel" which is essential reading if you want to understand how the story all fits together.     donnie darko, what a movie, the best plot & pacing of any film since pulp fiction. wonderfully acted & directed. could anybody, other than mr. kelly, fill the screen with such beautiful fodder, to a tears for fears song? hints of spielberg @ his fine...st are sprinked throughout this poignant, often comedic, time travel drama.     Cons: You Won't Understand It the First Time You See It

    I can't tell you what it's about. . . far too complicated. As I stated in the title it's a beautiful movie. I would NOT however purchase this if you aren't a real thinker or aren't too bright (hope that didn't come across as... mean but you do need to be somewhat intellectual to "get it")I watch it once a week! ;-) Read more Less

    I was at my friend's house for a sleepover when I saw this movie. By the time it was over, only the two of us (out of the whole party) were awake. I was glued, this was undoubtedly one of the best movies I had ever seen. I also loved the fact ...that (at five AM) I barely "got" it at all. Between the two of us, it became the biggest topic of conversation. Whatever it was, it was mindbending. Eventually, some of the events cleared themselves up, esp. w/the help of extra viewing, something I minded not at all. :) I'm planning to see the director's cut as soon as I can manage it.     All I can say is be prepared to watch repeatedly. Then be prepeared to go on the internet and figure it out.

    This is one of the best movies I've ever seen. The music in the movie fit perfectly. It's a nearly flawless movie. The analysis of the smurfs was great, too.
