Don't Die Without Telling Me Where You're Going (1995)

From Argentine director Eliseo Subiela comes this sparkling gem of magical realism along the lines of Wim Wenders' WINGS OF DESIRE. Leopoldo is a lonely film projectionist in a struggling theater is trying to bring his dreams to life with an invention that captures his somnambulant imaginings and makes them visible. His wife dismisses him as a hack and the only person who believes in him is his friend Oscar, who is working on an invention of his own. The only person, that is, until Leopoldo meets Rachel, who appears to him in his dreams to reveal that he was one of cinema's early inventors in a past life, and she has been his companion throughout centuries of reincarnation.
