    Great Werewolf Movie!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jul 2, 2003

If you like horror movies (especially of the werewolf kind) this movie is for you!

I was a little skeptical at first, the Dog Soldiers jacket cover looked a little low budget and non-high tech. I realize now, that they saved their money on the jacket cover to make a better movie.

The story line was great and the werewolves looked pretty good. The actors did a really convincing job of playing terrified soldiers trapped in a house.

I jumped from my seat more than a few times, which is pretty good for a person who has become desensitized over the many years that I have been watching horror movies.

I would definitely buy this movie for my horror collection. “Move over American Werewolf in London, there is a new dog in town!”

    Who let the Dogs outs??

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jan 8, 2003

When a group of weekend warriors on routine training run into werewolves, the combination is something to lick your paws for. Good story but predictable if you can see the tracks ahead but very entertaining. Don't forget to feed the dogs before you go to sleep otherwise they may have you for dinner.

Low budget horror at its best!

Dog soldiers proves you do not have to have a
lot of money to make a good horror movie. The
excellent action sequences and explicit gore and violence make this unique among werewolf movies. The Werewolves them selves, are convincing. The acting is superb. It is well directed by Neil Marshall. This an extremely entertaining horror movie.

One of the best films of the year!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Nov 7, 2002 | 1 out of 1 found this Dog Soldiers (2002) review helpful

I am always ready to rent a new werewolf film. Werewolf films are always good and when I read about Dog Soldiers I thought wow this`ll be one great action/horror film. When I saw the box to the film I was so amazed and thrilled and I thought by how the box looks Dog Soldiers must be one of the best films of the year if not the best whether it was shown on the big screen or direct to video. It began with a bang with a first bloody killing. When we see the team moving in position I was laughing at the camera work because it is quite jerky and shaky and very similar like Gladiator`s camera work though its a lot quicker. The very cool camera work is seen through nearly the entire film which can be awesome once getting used too! Believe it or not I was scared because I didn't know what was coming next and the way the camera showed the dark sky and the wind blowing the big trees it was just so creepy! Sean Pertwee once again put on a bloody good performance. The Werewolves were very impressive. Though the film never explained how the werewolves became to be but I was satisfied with Dog Soldiers as it is one of the best films I have seen this year.To Me in doesn't matter if the film is released in the theatre or via video but what does matter to Me is if the movie good or not. Dog Soldiers in My opinion deserves big time credit and I highly recommend Dog Soldiers to all Werewolf, horror, and action fans everywhere. Don't not miss this film no matter what!

One of the greatest werewolf films ever!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Oct 5, 2002 | 1 out of 1 found this Dog Soldiers (2002) review helpful

Finally, the werewolf has made a much needed comeback in cinema. This movie ranks with AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON, THE HOWLING and GINGER SNAPS as one the best horror films of its genre (or any for that matter). A combination of solid story, acting, directing and on set effects are all combined to make a horror film like they don't make anymore (but, should). American horror film makers could learn a lot from this scottish production that was apparently made for around four million dollars. Keep your eyes peeled for a canadian release of the DVD which will more than likey have the tons of extras that the american version won't.
