Disney's The Emperor's New Groove Game Boy Color

Based on the 2000 animated movie starring the voices of David Spade and John Goodman, Disney's The Emperor's New Groove for Game Boy Color is a side-scrolling platform game with a llama as the protagonist. Following the story line of the feature film, the cartridge has players on a trek to regain Kuzco's human form by confronting the evil woman who transformed him. The action begins in a village and will take players through a jungle, cliff, city, lab, and the emperor's palace. Two boss encounters include battles against a jaguar and the wicked Yzma herself.

Each level is filled with a number of platforms to jump across and enemies to defeat. Among the creatures Kuzco will encounter are rats, snakes, scorpions, spiders, and guards. To help defeat them, players can use Kuzco's ability to spit, but his saliva isn't limitless. Players can replenish Kuzco's spit, which is represented by a horizontal meter, by picking up spit drops found along the ground. Other moves the llama can perform include head butting, charging, ducking, and jumping. Kuzco can absorb up to five hits before losing a life, but players can restore hits by collecting hearts.

As Kuzco makes his way through the levels, there will be times when he needs to figure out how to advance. Doors and triggers can be opened using spit, jugs or barriers can be broken using charge moves, and certain enemies can only be harmed by specific attacks. At the end of each level, Kuzco will run into his human friend Pacha, who will guide the llama to the next area until Kuzco's final confrontation with Yzma at the palace.
