Disney's Dinosaur Game Boy Color

The egg is eventually discovered by a peaceful clan of lemurs, who adopt it into their family. They call him Aladar. Years pass and Aladar grows up very happy in his island paradise. But now they must flee their home due to a deadly meteor shower. His family includes Yar (the lemur's patriarch), Yar's daughter Plio, granddaughter Suri and best friend Zini. The game begins here as Aladar must lead his family to the safety of the nesting grounds.

Although Disney's Dinosaur is a single-player game, you can choose between six different characters to play in the herd. Each member has a different ability and you must choose the right one to pass certain points in the game. Characters include Aladar, Zini, Plio, Suri, Eema and Url. You start with only Aladar and find the other members of the herd as the game goes on. Enemies in Dinosaur include carnotaurs, mosasaurus, pteranodons and velociraptors. The skills of each member in your herd must be utilized to evade or destroy these enemies. Aladar can push or pull rocks and swim, Zini can run fast, Plio can jump, Suri can climb vines and swing, Eema can destroy rocks, and Url can defeat enemies with his tail.

Dinosaur has 27 levels which include lava-filled rivers, mountain cliffs, deserts and caves. In each level you can collect Health Flowers which will restore damaged herd members when they are totally out of health. Rescue baby dinosaurs that got separated from their herd and bring them along to add points to your score. Also, white flowers will add to your score and during the game you must find "Gather Herd" icons where you may change herd members to perform different tasks. ~ Nick Woods, All Game Guide
