Panamanian alternative metal band Disemburied got involved in the local rock scene in 1992, recording its first EP called Abysmal Desolation in 1993. Three years later, the group successfully toured South America for the first time, playing in Ecuador and Peru. In 1997, Disemburied participated in Panapalooza, a major rock festival. In 1998, the band's debut album called Angel de Maldad was released.
