After a five-year retirement, PFR (Pray for Rain) is back with a renewed spirit and a bold new release entitled Disappear. Kicking off the disc with a grand entrance is the cut "Amsterdam." The tune boasts a bass and keyboard interplay that helps build its chorus to a roaring pinnacle. "Gone" offers up a vibe that features some well-placed guitar harmonics, as a distorted rhythm guitar drives the chorus. Cuts like "All Ready" and "You" display the solid vocal prowess of the band. From lead vocals to band harmonies, this disc is strong. "Closer" is a tune that soars with three-piece splendor. On the song, PFR illustrates why drums, guitar, and bass are a formidable force. "Missing Love" is a vocal centerpiece for Joel Hanson; the cut is a powerful one and has the same vocal nuances as John Waite. Disappear is a disc that offers some outstanding lead and acoustic guitar work. Intertwined are solid bass lines and enduring melodies that help create a comeback disc worthy of repeated spins.... - Steven Douglas Losey, All Music Guide Read more Less
