As far as grunge rock goes, this is the very best album ever made. Alice in Chains, in my opinion, was the best grunge band ever, better then Nirvana, Pearl Jam, or Soundgarden. HELL YEAH! All of the songs kick ass but Rooster has got to be my favorite. This is grunge. R.I.P. Layne. You will always be greatly missed.

BOY DO I ENJOY ALICE IN CHAINS' FIRST TWO ALBUMS, "DIRT" AND "FACELIFT". FANTASTICALLY HARD ROCKING SONGS.

Dirt will always be known as one of the greatest records of the early 90's. Alice In Chains is a fine example of how good grunge rock is. Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Soundgarden were also great grunge bands, but Alice In Chains was the heaviest out of al...l the four. The songs are strongs on this record. Not one song is unworth of skipping through, they're all really good. My personal favorites are "Rooster", "Dam That River", and "Would?". An ode to the late Layne and Alice in Ch

as many know by now, Layne Staley was found dead at his home on friday, april 19, 2002. I've been expecting this day for awhile, but deep down i always hoped that layne would come out of his heroin coma and go back to making music like he was born t...o do. That dream is over now, and i'm crushed. Layne, i don't know what happened to you that would make you want to hurt yourself so much, but you'll always have my respect and love for creating music that i will still cherish years after you are gone. Alice in Chains have already proven that they can stand the test of time. In my mind, they have become the most influential (and copied) band to come out of the 90's. more so then nirvana, pearl jam, soundgarden, stp, chili peppers, and rage, and that's saying something. If it wasn't for AiC there would be no Godsmack, Creed, 3 doors down, Puddle of Mudd (the only band i mentioned that i like) and the list goes on and will contiue to grow until music dies. I don't care who you are, how old you are, etc; every single music lover needs to own needs to own at least one AiC album. In my opinion, that album should be Jar of Flies, but Dirt's a close second. I think I've said all that I need to say. And Layne, I hope your laughing at me from above alongside kurt, jimi, and bob. Read more Less
