The Benchmark For Action Movies

For me, the "Die Hard" trilogy is the benchmark that all other action movies should have to go by. In a time where fancy gunplay was all you needed to have a great action movie, "Die Hard" was way ahead of the pack. Bruce Willis and Alan Rickman were perfect shoe-ins for their roles. Hans Gruber, Rickman's character, is one of the scariest villains to date. The movie has probably some of the best special effects I've seen in movies of its genre. If you're looking for a great action flick, look no further.

A journey to the life of an NYC cop, facing dozens of dangerous criminals, saving lives of hostages and destroying the plans of terrorists. If you are looking for a superb action - this is it. It is as perfect as "True Lies", "Speed" and other most terrific action movies ever. I keep watching it again and again and can't get enough.

I'm so stoked to have found the Die Hard Trilogy on DVD! I've been dreaming of the day when they'd release all three! My favorite? #1, of course, which is probably the finest action film ever made! But numbers two and three are also awesome, and I just checked out the whole package last night! The sound blew me away! It was like being back in the theater again; my Bostons handled the transfer extraordinarily well. And the picture quality is fantastic! The extras are also nice; slick packaging and tremendous care went into every aspect of the collection. Like the new Kubrik set, this one will find its way into my DVD-ROM drive time and time again!

Without a doubt the best action movie of all time is "DieHard"
And im a HUGE T2 fan, but you cant deny the obvious.
The second movie is a little weak but i think thats because it was going to be compared to the original. The third came right back atcha strong!

In my oppinion all three of these movies were great, mainly because of the action. Die Hard and Die Hard with a Vengance can both be arguably the best. Like I said before all three of them are full of ACTION, nothing comes close not even T2!!!!!!!!

All three of the Die Hard movies were a work of art. Not only were they a good sorce of testorone for all male viewers alike, they all had something different to add to the mix. Like in a building in LA, to an Airport in DC, then up to the entire city of NY. In my oppinion these three films are the best all-around action films made.

......the first Die Hard movie is without a doubt the best action movie of all time, and worth 5 stars. Bruce Willis is perfect as the "everyman" stuck in a bad situation (unlike super Arnold, who you can't relate to). Alan Rickman plays one of the best movie villians ever, chewing up the scenery and redefining the movie villian from brutish to suave and intelligent. The action is fantastic and never stops.
Things go slightly downhill in the sequels. The second movie isn't nearly as good, and the third, though better, still doesn't hold a candle to the original. Samuel Jackson is a wonderful addition in the third, but the sequels are uneven, and not nearly as fun.

An explolsive action thriller that keeps your heart pounding. Two thumbs way way up. Die Hard is a movie you want to watch over and over again. It is like no other movie that I saw before. If you haven't seen Die Hard, Die Hard 2 Die Harder or Die Hard with a Vengeance go out and see it right now.

You want action? Adventure? Puzzles? Comedy? You can get it all in the Die Hard Trilogy. Explosions and gunplay in Die Hard I. Awesome special effects and chases in Die Harder. And slick puzzles and comedy in Die Hard With a Vengeance. You can't go wrong with buying this trilogy!

Unlike "Ah-nold", Bruce Willis adds a human element that makes the outrageous action seem almost plausible. Willis suffers from people not liking him as an actor, as I did before I saw the first in the series. That first film is several years old and still holds up against any of those that have the benefit of fancier move-making technology. I have problems with the 3rd of the series, but the action isn't one of them, it was the idiotic dialogue Sam Jackson was given. If you dare call yourself an action/adventure fan, this is your holy trinity.

The "Die Hard" trilogy defines the action picture genre! Almost every action movie since the first "Die Hard" has borrowed something from this series. Bruce Willis and Alan Rickmann play off each other so well that you it makes you realize that the bad guy is as important as the good guy in action pictures.
